If you’re interested in Honeycomb, you can watch the press briefings and announcement portion of the event on YouTube at 1pm eastern time today.

Google will be showing off Honeycomb and giving full demos of the operating system for the first time. The link doesn’t work yet but should when the event begins.

Google has updated the YouTube application for Android. You now have the ability to watch videos in both portrait and landscape, view useful channel info, search easier and actually experience YouTube the way you would on a browser.

The app looks like it is for devices running Android 2.2. You need to uninstall the old YouTube app first using Titanium Backup or equivalent, reboot and then install this version.

Eric Schmidt, Google CEO, told reporters at the technology conference in Lake Tahoe that 200,000 Android devices are activated daily. That’s doubled since the IO developer conference in May and up a whopping 40,000 from June.

Oh, and if you are worried if Android costs Google money, Schmidt says mobile search revenue “easily pays for all Android development.”

Dell has confirmed that although the Dell Streak will launch with Android 1.6, the mini-tablet will get Android 2.2 later this year through an over-the-air update. You can get the Streak in black at launch time, and in cherry red sometime later.

Also, despite previous reports the Dell Streak will not support T-Mobile’s 3G network.

The presale begins “this week.” You will be able to purchase accessories, get free next-day shipping and a 99-cent Plantronics Bluetooth headset.

YouTube announced that it has launched a new and improved mobile website with HTML5-friendly video. YouTube’s new mobile website, m.youtube.com, offers faster performance and an improved touch-friendly user interface.

Many popular features of the full YouTube website are now available on the mobile site. This includes search suggestions, support for like/dislike buttons, and the ability to create playlists. Google says that the mobile site will see improvements more frequently than the native applications which is a hint that the app may not be around too much longer.

Below are some funny videos about iPhone 4 vs HTC EVO 4G but they are probably not suitable for watching at work, so wait until you have some personal time on your hands.

There is one video for each camp so no playing favorites although you probably know my preference. Both phone platforms are in a fierce rivary to crown the smartphone market and they both have pros and cons. Humor is always good BUT the guy who made the videos unfortunately lost his job at Best Buy. Enjoy………
