Verizon will be lighting up five new LTE markets January 19th (tomorrow) and will expand coverage in three existing areas.

The new Verizon 4G LTE markets are:

Glens Falls, N.Y.
Utica, N.Y.
Lawton, Okla.
Brownsville, Texas
McAllen, Texas

The markets being expanded are:

Atlanta, Ga.
Houston, Texas
Spokane, Wash.

That will make it a total of 195 4G LTE markets in Verizon’s grasp!

Last week was the Motorola RAZR and this week it’s the HTC Rezound’s turn. The Rezound is now available at Verizon Wireless for $249 with a 2-year contract, after $50 rebate.

The HTC Rezound is HTC’s first smartphone with a 720p resolution display, just like the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Nexus. As for the camera, you’re looking at an 8-megapixel sensor and 1080p video recording. There is a 2-megapixel camera in the front of the device. Other core features include a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM 8660 processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 16GB mircoSD card. It will ship with Android 2.3, Gingerbread.

HTC has officially announced the HTC Rezound which will land on Verizon on November 14th. The Rezound sports a a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM 8660 processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 16GB mircoSD card. It will ship with Android 2.3, Gingerbread but HTC says it’s committed to an Ice Cream Sandwich update as soon as possible.

The HTC Rezound is HTC’s first smartphone with a 720p resolution display, just like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. As for the camera, you’re looking at an 8-megapixel sensor and 1080p video recording. There is a 2-megapixel camera in the front of the device.

And, of course, there’s that Beats audio. “You should have the best audio experience in your mobile experience,” they said at the launch event. You also get a set of Beats earbuds with your Rezound.

The HTZ Rezound will cost $299.99 on contract.

The DROID RAZR by Motorola is now official on Verizon. It has all the specs you would expect of a top line Android device including 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 4G LTE, 4.3″ Super AMOLED “Advanced” display, and a whole bunch of built-in software. Pre-orders start October 27 for $299 on contract with availability happening some time in November.

Some other notes that haven’t been covered items of not are 16GB on-board storage along with a pre-installed 16GB SD card, 1780mAh battery, and it’s the “world’s thinnest smartphone.”

Verizon has announced the Samsung Stratosphere, its first 4G LTE-capable smartphone with a slide-out keyboard. The Stratosphere has a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 1GHz Cortex A8 processor and Androuid 2.3. It also comes with a wealth of business features, including Exchange Active Sync, Cisco AnyConnect, encryption services and Sybase Afaria for IT device management.

As for your picture taking needs, it sports a 5MP camera on the back, capable of shooting video up to 720p, and a 1.3MP shooter up front. It can also serve as a mobile hotspot for as many as eight devices over 4G, and five over 3G.

It will be available October 13th for $149 after two-year contract and a $50 rebate.

The Samsung Stratosphere will be available on Oct. 13 in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com for $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. Customers will receive the rebate in the form of a debit card; upon receipt, customers may use the card as cash anywhere debit cards are accepted.
Customers that purchase a Samsung Stratosphere smartphone will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan beginning at $39.99 for monthly access and a smartphone data package starting at $30 monthly access for 2 GB of data.
