Motorola and Sprint announce the Motorola XPRT and the Motorola Titanium. The XPRT is an Android phone aimed at business users. It’s like a Droid Pro on Verizon’s network but made for Sprint with some nice Enterprise features.

The Motorola XPRT comes with a 3.1-inch touchscreen and 1GHz processor. It is also a world phone so you can take this baby to any GSM network (outside the United States) and have full connectivity.

You can grab an XPRT on June 5th in Sprint stores, online or business sales. It will cost 129.99 and is worth a look by any Enterprise users.

It’s a follow-up to the Motorola i1 sporting a 3.1-inch touchscreen, Android 2.1 and is military grade for dust, shock, vibration, low pressure, solar radiation, high temperature and low temperature.

Verizon’s Motorola Droid X is about to get an update. The version is 2.3.340.MB810.Verizon.en.USIBP_C_01.09.07P.

It’s not Gingerbread but does have some nice new features and bug fixes:

Preloaded MyVerizon application (v5).

It looks like the Dell Aero is ready for a second quarter launch. With FCC approval behind them the Mini 3iG is ready to be Dell’s first Android handset to be sold in the US.

The Dell Aero will ship with Android 1.5 with the promise of an eventual update to Android 2.1. A 624MHz Marvell processor will be onboard and a 3.5-inch capacitive multitouch screen with a stylus for handwriting recognition, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, UMTS 1900 / 850 support, QuickOffice, ActiveSync, on-device photo editing, and social networks. Details for the upcoming Dell Aero have been released. It will ship with Android 1.5 with the promise of an eventual update to Android 2.1.

A lackluster 624MHz Marvell processor will be onboard and a 3.5-inch capacitive multitouch screen with a stylus for handwriting recognition. On the plus side, the device comes with QuickOffice, ActiveSync, on-device photo editing, and social networks.

It should be released the second quarter of this year.

Verizon’s Droid: The Buying

â€¢ The Droid costs $199.99 when bought with a new two-year contract. In most cases you will end up forking over $299.99 up-front, then getting $100 back via a mail-in rebate.

â€¢ To avoid the $100.00 mail-in rebate, you can buy your Droid at Best Buy. Best Buy will automatically credit the rebate at the time of your purchase.

â€¢ The Droid requires a Verizon voice plan, which runs a minimum of $39.99 for 450 minutes. It also requires an unlimited data plan, which runs an additional $29.99. Text messaging is not included and costs extra to add on.

â€¢ Despite some initial confusion, you will not have to pay extra simply to utilize the Droid’s Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync feature. There is a $15 surcharge only if you have a multiple-line business account.
