Gauntlet: The Third Encounter was a game for the Atari Lynx, a short-lived handheld console, that was released in 1990. In the game there is a character named Android, who looks suspiciously similar to the character in the Android OS logo. There share the same dotted eyes, antenna, general proportions, and shape. They are so similar in fact, that I wouldn’t doubt that a graphic designer at Google had played this game and got some, shall we say, inspiration from it.
