Many folks thought we may never see a custom ROM on the Motorola Droid X because of its locked bootloader and “eFuse”. Well, the Android development community is up to all challenges and now we can see the Droid X sporting a custom ROM.
The ROM it’s running is Android 2.2 Sapphire (one of my favorites by the way!) AOSP ROM. This should be good news because we are seeing the evolution of the Droid X being rooted, then to custom recovery and now a custom ROM being installed, laying the foundation for a stable custom ROM installation in the not to distant future.
