If you like taking care of things “manually” on your HTC EVO 4G, you can update to the official Android 2.2 Froyo as the RUU has leaked on the interwebs. RUU is a Windows program that’s used by technicians to restore or upgrade an Android phone to the latest version.
Here is how to to it:
- Charge Evo’s battery to 75 percent minimum
- Ensure HTC Sync is installed on your PC
- Turn on USB debugging
- Connect to your computer, and use the charge only USB profile
- Double click the RUU and follow the prompts
Note: This will erase all your data, as well as break any known root methods. Unofficial updates can cause issues with your device.
Now that the warning is out of the way, hit up XDA Developers for the download link and have a blast!
