Dell has confirmed that although the Dell Streak will launch with Android 1.6, the mini-tablet will get Android 2.2 later this year through an over-the-air update. You can get the Streak in black at launch time, and in cherry red sometime later.

Also, despite previous reports the Dell Streak will not support T-Mobile’s 3G network.

The presale begins “this week.” You will be able to purchase accessories, get free next-day shipping and a 99-cent Plantronics Bluetooth headset.
