Scanner Radio for Android by Gordon Edwards is the perfect application for all you scanner buffs out there. The application allows you to listen to live audio from over 2,200 police and fire scanners, railroad communications, and weather radio broadcasts from around the world and more are being added daily. You can choose from nearby scanners or popular scanners or even look up a particular scanner that interests you.
There is a free app and a paid app ($2.49). Currently the only difference is with the paid Pro version the ads will be removed and in the future may unlock some additional features. You are required to try the free version anyway before upgrading to pro so if you don’t find the ads annoying, the free version is more than adequate. Now, with that being said, if you enjoy the app, it doesn’t hurt to upgrade to Pro so we can repay the developer for all his hard work.
