Many of us love to text and most of us utilize our carriers. While convenient, it is nothing short of throwing money away. Now we have an application called textPlus, that offer free texting through its application. textPlus, which has enjoyed over 3.5 million downloads on the iPhone/iPod touch platform, has decided to come on over to Android and now many of us won’t have to pay the carriers another penny for SMS messages.

Here is how textPlus works. It sends the recipient (presumably, a non textPlus user) a message that details it’s from your username and gives instructions on how to reply back to you. If you’re texting another textPlus user, it’s even more seamless. textPlus also allows for group texting, up to 20 of your friends can respond to one another and everyone can see it. Almost like a conference call but with texts instead.
